Reverent Sourcing

Our Hojari frankincense resin comes from the Boswellia sacra trees of Oman’s Dhofar region, where the finest tears of translucent white-green resin are carefully harvested. Known as the highest grade of frankincense, Hojari is prized for its clarity, citrus brightness, and deeply uplifting character.

Harvested in the early mornings during Oman’s resin season, each tear is collected by hand with respect for ancient traditions. We work directly with harvesters who uphold sustainable tapping methods, ensuring the trees are never overworked and the delicate ecosystem remains protected for generations to come.

How to Use

For incense burning: Place a resin tear on a lit charcoal disc in a heatproof burner and allow the rich, lemony, slightly balsamic aroma to fill your space.

  • For rituals & meditation: Burn during prayer, meditation, or energy cleansing to create a sacred and serene atmosphere.

  • Infusions & chewing: In Oman, Hojari resin is often chewed like a natural gum or soaked in water to create a light infusion. If chewing, note that the resin hardens quickly and may not be suitable for those with dental fillings or sensitive teeth.

Tradition & Reverence

Frankincense has been traded and treasured for over 5,000 years, offered in temples, carried on desert caravans, and used as a bridge between the human and the divine. Hojari, in particular, is associated with purity, clarity, and sacred ritual.

At Scent Molecule, we honour this legacy by sourcing only from ethical harvesters in Oman, ensuring each piece of resin embodies its origin, a gift of the Boswellia sacra tree, the desert winds, and the skilled hands who gather it.

F&Q

What makes Hojari special?

Hojari is the top grade of Boswellia sacra resin, selected for its pale, translucent tears with a hint of green. Its aroma is brighter and more citrusy than other grades.

How long does it last when burned?
Just 1–2 small tears will fragrance a room for around 30–45 minutes. Resin burns slowly, so a little goes a long way.

Can I chew the resin?
Hojari resin is traditionally chewed as a natural gum in Oman. However, it is very hard and not recommended for those with fillings or dental sensitivity. Always start with a very small piece.
