Our Palo Santo wood is sourced directly from a small, community-managed forest in the rare dry forest ecosystem of Piura, Northern Peru. Only naturally fallen wood is gathered, never live trees, and each piece is hand-selected from trees that have been resting on the forest floor for at least 20 years. This long natural aging process allows the aroma to deepen, producing an especially rich and complex aroma.
The site is owned and protected by the local village with harvesting closely monitored to ensure no illegal activity takes place. Every community member receives a share of the profits, creating a model of ethical trade that directly supports local livelihoods. Oversight is provided by an environmental engineer to ensure ecological integrity at every step.
Our wood is fully traceable from forest to final destination through SERFOR (Servicio Nacional Forestal y de Fauna Silvestre), Peru’s official forestry authority. For export, inspections are carried out by SENASA, Peru’s National Agricultural Health Service, to ensure compliance with environmental and international standards.
With no middlemen, our Palo Santo travels directly from the hands of the harvesters to us—ensuring purity, transparency, and reverence in every bundle.
